T.G.I.Thursday!

Woooo-hoooo!!!! It's finally Thursday, and I get my three-day weekend! Ugh, I need it soooo bad after this hellish month. For the last few days I've had that song stuck in my head that goes "We gotta get out of this place/If it's the last thing we ever do/We gotta get out of this place..." Yeah, you know. Anyway, it'll be nice to eat real food this weekend instead of living off of the generic dorm diet of instant Ramen and Easy-Mac. Oh, and on Saturday, I finally get a haircut! I know I sound like such a hopeless teenage girl, but I have the WORST split ends ever and I am so glad they'll be gone. Wow. I can't believe I just made you listen to me talk about my split ends. That's just wrong. I'm sorry. Dang, I am soo very ADHD today. Really, I have the attention span of a fly on amphetamines right now. Oooooohhh... amphetamines.... Just kidding. ;)

PS: I swear, when I decided to start this blog, I didn't know my life was so damn boring.

Oh, Happy Day...

(kick-ass music in the background) la-la-laaaa-la-la-la-la-laaa.... sorry, I was busy doing my Alias dance...'cuz ALIAS WAS ON TONIGHT!!!!!! YAY!!!

Today is great! Alias was on, and tomorrow I'm going home to New Orleans sweet New Orleans for a three-day weekend! :D Sorry, just wanted to share.

Woah, my roomate, Ashlea, is playing the Avril Lavigne song "Complicated." Blast from the past, huh? Crap, now I feel like a dorky freshman.... which, unfortunately, I was when this song first came out. Awkward times, 'nuff said.

Nothing much going on here now, just counting down the hours until Extended Weekend, lol!

PS: Thank you for putting up with my idiotic mood. Hey, ya can't say I didn't warn you that I'm a numps!

This Numps Has Lumps 'n' Bumps (And They're Almost As Annoying As This Title)

Dammit. I didn't know my little self-description thingy would show, so I practically repeated it in my first post! Grr. Well, guess what? I'm too frickin' lazy to go back and change it. So deal with it.

Anyway, onto this post. I have eight enlarged and generally f*cked-up lymph nodes all around my neck right now. And they've been popping up over the time span of three months and they're not going away. Yeah, so that's not normal. I went to the doctor a few times about my lumpies, and among other tests I got a fine-needle aspiration done on one of the nodes which came back negative for everything under the sun (i.e. cat scratch, mono, TB, lymphoma), so they just said my lymph nodes are screwed up for no reason. 'Cuz THAT makes sense! Anyway, that was back when I only had four effed-up nodes, and the number has since doubled, so this Friday when I'm at home (we have an Extended Weekend this weekend, so we get to go home from Thursday to Sunday), we're gonna try to snag me an excisional biopsy and perhaps a ct scan to definitively rule out lymphoma. Apparently, fine-needle aspirations are least accurate in diagnosing lymphoma. Well, that's just great. Grr. Oh well. I swear, if they take out one of the nodes and have to shave my head around it and I end up with a bald spot, I'm gonna henna tattoo a smiley face on the bald patch. Really, I will.
All these doctor appointments are making me get behind in school, and it's pissing me off. Ah, well, life sucks and then you die. Just kidding :)
Sorry 'bout this post. Just wanted to vent about my damn lumps 'cuz they suck.
Off to Precalculus class! Fun fun! Yeah right.

And So It Begins...

Hello, all you computer-savvy people! Welcome to my blog sweet blog...

As you know, my name's Jennie. I'm 16 and a junior at my "residential high school" (nice name for boarding school) in Natchitoches, LA. No, I didn't get shipped off to boarding school because I'm a juvenile delinquent or something - this boarding school is a really competitive high school for advanced students. My sister, Becky, calls it "smart school," lol. Every time I do something stupid (which is often), she's like, "Why do you go to smart school, again?" She goes to an all-girls (day) school back home in New Orleans, or at least she does for a few more months - she graduates in May. Oh, I almost forgot: For the record, my school is called the Louisiana School for Math, Sciences, and the Arts (affectionately known as LSMSA).
Now, to completely switch topics just for the hell of it, I am a really really really reallyreallyreally big fan of the show ALIAS on ABC. Definitely the Best. Show. Ever. Seriously, you're missing out if you don't watch it.
Okay, the awkward first post is out of the way now. So you can stop cringing now. ;)
